BERGER COVER-UP

As someone who has done research in US presidential libraries the Sandy Berger case has always bothered me. I don't see how someone can "unintentionally" take documents home. Most archival staff I have met seem fairly alert to what is going on in the Reading Room and also sometimes you are limited in what you can bring into a room. Also in "losing"(and now we learn he cut several documents up) the historical record is impacted. Future historians will not have the benefit of these documents. The whole case seems filled with blunders, lack of oversight, or intentional misrepresentation of what happened.
