REPUBLICAN FAILURE ON HEALTH CARE

I wholeheartedly agree that the Republicans failed when they had the chance to make many improvements in health care and other areas. Lott, Hastert, Fritts, et. al. were just asleep or incompetent to lead. Bush failed to respond to so many issues early in his presidency--the country was just drifting. It is easy to fault Iraq and the War on Terror as the cause, but I do think the administration had a one-track focus. The energy was just not expended on so many other political, economic, and social issues.
